Recognizing the need for a business valuation

A business valuation may be required for a variety of different professional or personal circumstances. Whatever the need, there are many factors that impact a company’s value, which can be a complex process that involves a high degree of expertise.

Our team assists clients in situations including:

  • Shareholder disputes and transactions

  • Family law
  • Income tax and estate planning transactions
  • Purchase and sale of a business
  • Partnership and joint venture disputes

Family Law Litigation Support Services

Our team of business valuations professionals have extensive experience providing business valuations to assist with the equalization of net family property. Specifically, we provide business valuation reports where individuals own part or all of a private corporation where a value for that business interest is not readily available, as it is with publicly traded companies. Our team of professionals has extensive experience completing joint retainer engagements where we are retained by both parties to help resolve the issues at hand.

We also prepare Expert Reports regarding and individual’s Income for Support Purposes (“Income Reports”) in accordance with the Federal Child Support Guidelines and associated principles of case law. These Income Reports are used for purposes of establishing child and/or spousal support and are required where an individual’s income, as shown on Line 15000 of their personal tax return, is not reflective of the actual income earned and available to them, such as when:

  • They are shareholder or director of a corporation

  • They are an owner of an unincorporated business

  • They receive unreported cash profit

  • They own rental properties

  • They have significant investment income
